Fiber in 3D

Female Amour

The trim on this piece was really fun to make! It’s scrunched silk fused to cotton and then painted with metallic acrylic paints to make it look like metal or leather. The studs are those googlie eyes, painted. They were the perfect size and have the look of real metal studs. The fabrics were fused to an interfacing, quilted and then fused to a heavy paper and cut into shapes.

This piece is part of the SAQA exhibit “Stitch Punk”.

Blue Metal Corset
